The main reason I play GW is because of the graphics. That and they dont have a Morrowind online...If they did i swear Anet and Blizard would lose 50% of thier player base.. but meh. That video looks like the graphics were made by the Wizard of Oz ppl.

I remember that! even then, it still pwned the socks off the other MMO's. Back then it was mainly to demonstrate the mechanics/features of GW like instancing, streaming updates, etc. It was before they prettied- up the engine's graphics.

Wow O_o

Our Guild Wars has really come along way. Glad they dropped the "WoW Clone" look and made it into the wonderful game it is today

Graphics like this led me to ditch WoW after a one week trial. I believe this was an attempt at reproducing Guild Wars made by the pre-teen kids of devs. Or maybe devs did sell their souls to the devil.

Do you think Anet will release a huge update for GW, in order for GW to support and take advantage of DirectX 10, coming with Vista?

GW Alpha pwns WOW. It would be kinda interesting to have more options on the GW render engine but going backwards?

I would imagine that they will eventually. As they progress their engine they will most likely be wanting to work with the latest technologies.

Yep, it really is Guild Wars. The most pathetic thing is, that there's a Dutch store called "Media Markt" which actually still shows this exact movie on their computers in the store when you click on Guild Wars. Guess they haven't sold many Guild Wars copies

Wow...that is so WoW like..

So this is what Blizzards crew can truly accomplish?

Wow..then Blizzard has no idea about how to manage there team.

And another thingaaang Blizz lost some good folks!

I mean..they made that thing that looks like a WoW clone..give them some time on there own without blizz, and now look at what they made, thats as amazing as it is brilliant!

Oh come on people, WoW is not that bad. It's just different from GW. The graphics in WoW are great, they've just got a cartoony style, because that's what the Warcraft universe is like. Just like Guild Wars goes for a more realistic look.

Ok, but really peoplel, is it worth the 10-15 dollars a month to play WoW, when you can play GW, and buy the new chapters whenever they go on sale?

For example, when i bought prophecies it was September 2005, and BestBuy had it on sale for 15 Dollars. SERIOUSLY!!! If you dont believe it, PM me and I'll send you a scan of the transaction. Wtih faction I also bought it for 20 Dollars in BestBuy. So is it really worth the gameplay and GFX of WoW to pay that much per month?

Hahaha, it looks like WoW with all of the advanced graphic options turned off.

I'm glad it looks how it does now, i'm much more into the realistic fantasy setting than the omg i'm a zombie crap that WoW plays into.

It was however a major breakthrough switching to the current engine, seems like a big step to take to me. I would never have bought the game if it had the graphics we see in the video.

Well, I actually asked that for no reason, I bumped it, so people who have not seen the video can see it now. Sorry if it was the wrong thing to do.
